My Summer Internship

First things first, this is by far I think, the best thing I have created, both colors wise and styling. I am in love with this.

Second, no I don't have a current summer internship; for those of you wondering, but I will have one next summer or the one after that. We will see how it goes. But, I would so wear this to future said summer internship, even if I am a Political Science Major, and government internships are known to be stale in the outfit department.
Did I mention how much I love this dress. The color, to die for. The print--polka dottie goodness. And don't even get me started on the style, perfect twirling length and shape.
Love this bag. The color and shape is beautiful. Plus it reminds me of the classic and so expensive Hermes Birkin.
I love cocktail rings that look expensive but are not. Plus pearls are ohh so chic and very Chanel.

I am really into all these floral blazer's that have been popping up on the fashion scene lately. Cant wait to get my hands on one.

What would you wear to a summer internship, or what do you wear to work for the summer months.

I put a little something together here, for all you fashion lovers out there. Ever wondered, how you could possibly wear shorts for those hot summer months to work, but still look appropriate?

Well now you can my pretties. All you have to do is pair it with chic, classic pieces, that elevate the shorts into the dressy level category. And you can easily do that by picking something like a Bermuda short--the length is still short enough to keep you cool--but long enough so you don't get yelled at by the boss for inappropriate work wear, Macy's has  a collection of them in every color of the rainbow.

Then pear it in equally bright and complement inducing ankle strap wedges, the perfect work shoe I say. Then just add a blazer, some neutral bangles and an it bag, and you're ready to go my friend. Who says you can't look cute and like a bag of skittles in the summer. Umm Skittles, taste the rainbow.

Le Fave's: May 2013 Favorites

Hey everyone! How are all my followers and readers doing today? I hope your week is of to a good start.

I cant believe that May is almost over. My god, we are already almost, half way through the year. I am excited; because next month is the official start of summer (and come on, who isn't excited about that) and its my B-Day month and my sisters. Can I get whoot, whoot.

Well today's post is going to consists of a favorites type of list. Everything from books, movies, music, etc. What I like, have been reading, you get the idea. So let's get this show on the road.

Viva la Musica! (My top 5 song's, in no particular order, for this month).

This song is just so beautiful, and I like the calming effect of the melody. And I like the whole new direction PINK has taken. I have been a fan of hers since the days of I'm coming out so you better get this party started.

The beat to this song makes me want to shake my hips, because they don't lie. LOL. :) But we just cant help that Miss. Gomez is growing up. I love the new indie, techno pop, her music is going to.

There are no words, to describe how much me an my sister love this song. We love it so much that we are deciding who gets to use it for their first dance at our future weddings. This song is epic. If a love like Romeo and Juliet's/Jack and Rose had to have a soundtrack to it, this song would be it. Its pure perfection, and its 8 minutes of pure J.T. goodness. Cant get any better than that can we.

This like the perfect summer jam. Hanging by the pool or having a bonfire by the beach with you friends from High School. It has the perfect mix of good old country music and nice beats of R&B its the perfect mash-up. Plus my first year in the USA I lived for 2 months in San Antonio, Texas, so I have a little country bug that has never left me.

A song about enjoying life, living in the moment, and about forgetting about the every day grind of life and stress. Plus Christina and Pit Bull makes for a great summer hit.

Movies (Top 5 in no particular order).

This movie is just awesome. Its funny, beautiful and eye opening at the same time. You just cant help to dance and sing along to all the songs.

Hilarious. Great cast, even better characters and story line. Reminds me of what my friends would do at my wedding. Its a feel good movie.

Love this movie. Its like a how to manual on guys. Just what every girl needs, and the comedic one liners are awesome as well. See for your selves.

I love Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel in this movie. Their chemistry is impeccable and the storyline so touching, everyone can relate to at one time or another. You will cry for sure.

Funny movie, about always the Bridesmaid never the Bride. I have been a Bridesmaid once, and it wasn't the best experience of my life. I have the dress that I had to pay $150 for and another $50 for alterations; do to me being the only short one in the bridal party. So I can relate a bit to this movie.

Books

"Do you know who I am? I shall tell you. I am Elizabeth, Princess of England, daughter of Henry VIII and his wife Anne Boleyn. I am eleven years old. My mother, once Queen, is now dead. Almost eight years ago, when I was not yet three, Father chopped off her head."
Basically this is a diary that chronicles Princess Elizabeth I life and upbringing. From the every day things, like playing in the gardens with her brother Edward, and even to the lavish parties thrown for things like Easter and Halloween. You get an insiders look into her young life as a Princess. I really love this kind of book, it really takes you back to another time, and it lets you live the life of a Royal, even though its through your imagination and the power of reading.

In The Voice of Knowledge, Miguel Ruiz reminds us of a profound and simple truth: The only way to end our emotional suffering and restore our joy in living is to stop believing in lies — mainly about ourselves. Based on ancient Toltec wisdom, this breakthrough book shows us how to recover our faith in the truth and return to our own common sense.
Basically this gives you a guide to living the best life, a life free of worry and regret, as natural and pure as the day you were born. I loved reading it, it was very insightful, although I don't agree with some-points, as it is hard to forgive and forget.

So I hope you all liked this post, let me know what you think. What are your favorite books, movies, and music for this month?

White on White

White on White

White on White by confectionarystyle featuring forever 21

The key to a monochromatic look, is to use different shades, textures and materials for that look; so that it does not become boring and stale. You do not want to be white bread now do you?

Since this whole look is all white. I decided to make each item a different texture and style. That way the whole look is not boring.

The bag is white, but the faux crock texture makes it unique and makes it pop as a statement piece. The skirt is sequins, therefore it will change in the light, so it wont necessarily look white, probably gray/silver. The shoes are a wedge and with a wooden platform, very casual and a totally different style from the overall outfit. The jacket is a motorcycle style with studs, so it adds a bit of interest and a certain vibe to the look. Which also makes this outfit appropriate for a date. The top is a peplum, so it adds to the shape and feel of the skirt and instant curves and class. And the jewelry pops with its gold accents, and its not another white matchy, matchy piece.

I don't know why, but I see this outfit being perfect for sightseeing somewhere like Miami, Panama, Cancun, St. Tropez, Nice, Ibiza, etc. It just has this summer hotness vibe. And its totally a great outfit to wear even dancing. Do the Samba in Rio.

Cyprus Beaches

Cyprus Beaches

Arent the above dresses just beautiful! I love both of them the color, the silk material (don't you just love the way silk feels on your skin-especially in the summer). These prints remind me of the wonderful beaches of Greece, I have been to Athens when I was younger and let me tell you Greek Beaches are paradise.

When in Cyprus, don’t limit yourself to just any ordinary dress. Spread your wings and fly into patterened dresses, that can go from the coastal waters to the countryside.

The vibrant colors of this dress are like the fragrant citrus and olive trees of Cyprus and wide open plains carpeted with colorful wild flowers and pristine beaches where turtles nest.

Holidays Past: April thru October

Like anyone out there, I love celebrating. What I mean by that is, any excuse for a holiday, wedding or birthday I am game for. So, I bring to you the Holidays of April-October. I chose these months because I started my blog in April and I cant believe its been seven months since I started my blog (a couple of more months and it will be a year of blogging; wow).  Well with that said lets get on with the show. First up April:
I started my blog on April 8th, so I started with the holidays after that day.

Some of the Holidays I chose to feature for the month of April.
April 12: Ram Navami (Hindu holiday).
April 18: Passover (Jewish holiday).
April 27: Administrative Professionals Day
April as a Month is Humor Month. (Hahah. Get it.)
I would like to point out that I chose one holiday from each week of the months I am going to list (starting with the first day of the week- Monday). I did this because it would be to long of a post to list every possible holiday for the past seven months. If you would like to learn more about the holidays featured feel free to Google them or look at the calenders provided and there you will find even more holidays than I chose to feature. Regardless of your faith or whether you celebrate any of these holidays big or small. Nonetheless they are holidays and should be acknowledged and I am acknowledging them here. Hope you appreciate my efforts.
May is one of my favorite months. One because of Mothers Day where we thank our lovely mothers for everything they have done for us. And two because of Memorial Day where we thank the men and women who fight for freedom and remember those that lost their lives in the process.
May 2: Brother's and Sisters Day (I have a sister if you were wondering).
May 13: Frog Jumping Day (That sounds fun).
May 23: World Turtle Day
May 30: Memorial Day (USA) [I participated in my city's local parade when I was in middle school].
All of May: May Flowers Month
That's it for the Spring months next up Summer (June, July and August my favorite time of the year- next to Christmas and my birthday of course).
Yay. Schools OUT and my Birthday's IN.
June 3: National Doughnut Day (USA)
June 7: Shavuot (Jewish holiday).
June 14: Flag Day (USA).
All of June is Summer Time. (What time is it? Summer time, its our vacation. What time is it? Party time. Schools out scream and shout. High School Musical 2 reference yo. )
Next up wonderful and hot MISS JULY. LOL.
July seems chuck full of holidays. But I will focus on a few.
July 1: Canada Day (Canadian Independence).
July 4: Fourth of July (USA Independence Day).
July 11: Cheer Up Day
July 18: Hug Week
July 26: Aunt and Uncle Day
All of July is July Flowers month.
Next August that truly comes in like a GUST. It's the one month out of the whole summer that comes in and goes out before you can say Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
August has lots of Holidays too, but I will try to focus on a few.
August 1: Girlfriend's Day (I love all my friends, they mean the world to me).
August 9: Send an e-mail Day (Who need's a specific day to send e-mails in today's world we send e-mails 24/7 365. )
August 15: Independence Day India
August 22: Janmashtami (Hindu Holiday)
August 30: Hari Raya (Islamic Holiday)
August is also HUG month. Therefore I give you all of my readers a virtual hug wherever you are in the world.
Lovely September Morning is next. (I love September. One school starts and after 3 months of summer you kind of need school to start as your bored out of your mind and two the crisp fall air is in the AIR. :)
I don't know why in this collage I did the holidays out of order. Oh well what can you do. Right?
September 1: Ganesh Chaturthi (Hindu Holiday)
September 5: Labor Day (USA)
September 12: Happy Moon Festival (Chinese Holiday)
September 23: Chocolate Day (Yes a day all about Chocolate sign me up. Yummy, yummy in my tummy.)
September 28: Rosh Hashanah (Jewish Holiday)
And last but not least October Fest.
Yes time to bring out the costumes my little monsters. (Lady Gaga reference). I am on a roll with these references today.
October 1: National Day China
October 3: Durga Puja
October 10: Canadian Thanksgiving
October 25: Say "Hey" Day
October 31: All Hallows Eve (in other word Halloween-costume time).
All of October Navratri Month.
And with that I hope everyone had wonderful holidays and time with their families where ever you are in the world. I also hope everyone had a nice and fun and spooktacular Halloween this past week. Sadly I did not have the privilege that I did as a child growing up in the States to dress up in a costume and go trick or treating (even though I am not a child anymore-that's the best part of Halloween; the CANDY and FREE candy at that. Am I right or am I Right?) {Wait's patiently for answer. Crickets chripiing.} Yeah I am right. I am always right.

This post is no way meant to be religious, it just so happened that a lot of religious holidays were between the Months of April-October. Its meant to be a fun fact like post and to help broaden your horizons about other cultures. I personally learned a lot. The fact that each month is known for more than Easter, Halloween, Mothers Day, etc, there's other holidays worth celebrating.
