Looks 4 Less: Lunching in Michael Kors--Emma Stone Inspired

Lunching in Michael Kors
Lunching in Michael Kors by confectionarystyle featuring club manhattan

This look is inspired by Emma Stone's outfit that she wore at Gilda's Club benefit her outfit was by Michael Kors. In my Look for less, I tried my best to find similar pieces to Emma's Outfit, but it was kind of hard finding the exact smae colors. So overall I went for the textures and feel of the outfit, and things that look similar or close to the original look.

My overall Emma Stone look for less costs $ 246 USD, which is probably the price of the Michael Kors pants that Emma Stone is wearing. So as usual let me know what you think in the comments.

LWD by Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift looked especially sweet and very feminine in Maria Lucia Hohan's Little White Dress.
Although I love Taylor's look here, and I think every woman should have a LWD in her closet, and it should be worn anytime not just labor day, I did not like Taylor's lack of accessories. So in my look I opted for a lace dress in a v-neck cut; as I feel not everyone feels comfortable having that much fabric so close to their neck. I also opted for closed toe glitter pumps, Taylor had peep-toes on. And I added a few accessories, that I think complements the whole look. A bow belt to tie in the sparkle theme and stick with the girliness of the overall look. And a red bag that's small enough to carry all the basic necessities, like lipstick for touch ups. And some adorable pearl earrings, keeps it feminine and classy. Overall look for less came to a total of: $ 161. Hope you guys like it. And thanks for stopping by.

Royal Wedding for Less

For this post I am going to recapture and recreate the wedding attire from the Royal Wedding of Kate Middleton to Prince William of Wales from a year ago in that memorable day of April 2011. So for starters lets start with Princess Kate. Above I tried to create her look for the affordable bride. I like what she wore to the ceremony as well as the reception. She was classic and timeless. What every bride should be on her wedding day. I for once love anything lace so her dress was a knockout. Although my Look 4 Less is not down to a tee they are similar and imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. So let's break it down: The dress to the left is a Taffeta, A-line and Sweetheart Neckline, Bridal Dress with beading around the waist which is similar to Kate's reception dress. It's US $ 164 and can be purchased here: Dress to the left
The dress to the right that I chose I think is better than Princess Kate's not that I did not like what she wore, its just I like the cheaper version that I found as it is less fuller than the original and doesn't have the long sleeves. I like to be able to move and dance and 3/4 length sleeves are a bit more comfortable and breezy. The dress to the right is a Lace Mermaid and  Deep V-neck style Wedding Dress for US $ 265.
I found a similar shrug to Kate's on Etsy that is US $ 90 and a faux fur bolero jacket. As far as the accessories go they are not that shabby and in my version totally affordable: The blue sapphire ring that belonged to the Late Princess Diana is only US $ 40 for a look alike. Kate Middleton inspired earrings on Amazon are only US $ 11.50  and the Ivory slingback sandals are 28 GB pound which is US $ 44.
Now sadly no bride will be as lucky as Kate was to wear her Majesties the Queens Royal Tiara. But we can go for something that is lest costly and still looks like a million bucks. So I found a Silver wave diamante & pearl comb at Debenhams for 20 GB pounds which is US $ 32.
For the make-up I went for a pinkish coral lip color and a Stilla Cosmetics baked blush/bronzer duo to get that sun-kissed and flushed bridal look.
The Total cost of this Royal Look 4 Less excluding the makeup is: US $ 646. That is not bad for an overall bridal look (2 dresses, a pair of shoes, and accessories). You get all of that for the price of what it would cost to buy most wedding dresses and certainly way less than Princess Catherine's Alexander McQueen's Masterful creation.
So as usual let me know what you think in the comments.

Looks 4 Less: Lacy Princess

Lacy Princess

I love the elegance of Duchess Catherine's Temperley London lace dress. The future Queen of England was attending the premiere of the Oscar nominated movie War Horse. I am sure all eye were on her. Why I love it? With its long sleeves and cinched waist, the black style lace gown just speaks elegance and poise. If you haven't noticed already by my past posts I am absolutely infatuated with the Duchess of Cambridge's style. Now for the the Total Price Tag on my beautiful recreation (pats self on back): Overall it costs $ 150. Certainly a price range fit for a Princess in Training in our own minds and dreams. Always stay sweet.

Looks 4 Less: Duchess Fashion (Kate Middleton)

Like any girl out there I have always wanted to be a Princess. In particular the future wife of Prince William or Harry (since William is taken obviously Harry is the next best choice). ;) With that in mind, as a little girl and now as a young woman, I idolized the Late Lady Diana (or in my heart and in the eyes of many Princess Diana the Queen of Hearts). Although I was born in the 90's and did not have the privilege of watching Charles and Diana's Wedding, nonetheless I still marveled at her great fashion sense. So much so that now I love here daughter in laws taste in apparel. So I have created a few looks inspired by Duchess Catherine's and Prince Williams diplomatic trip abroad to Canada this past July. So if you want to dress like Kate, then this guide is for you. Let's get started.
Casual Duchess

For this look I tried to re-create Kate's look above as close as possible. I love how the Duchess dressed very casually, like the girl next door but was still pulled together with the Blazer and dressy flowy top. Overall my version of the look cost $ 256.99 USD. The only thing that put me over was the DKNY belt which is $102. 23 USD. But I still think that that;s pretty good considering all the thinks you get in this look.
Sailor Kate

This next look is one of my favorites and let me tell you I have a lot of favorites. I love how simple and chic this look is. Kate is dressed in a nautical theme but that's not border line costumey. I would love to have that exact dress she is wearing, but I have a feeling that its probably way out of my budget. So in this look I thought I would do a shirt and skirt combo with nautical detailing. My look costs $ 227.05 USD. Like I said for an overall look that's not bad and you still get to look like a Princess.
Going Green

This next look would not be my style per say, but it would be very elegant for a dinner party not a tree planting event. Needless to say that for this look I hit the nail right in the head but I did not stay in a look for less price range for this look the total is $ 2,684.07 USD. Yeah that's one big price tag but for the sake of the look we'll let this one slide right? The only thing that threw me over in this look is the necklace which I used to recreate the collar of Kate's dress.
Rockin Purple

This is another one of my favorite looks. Its the perfect concert look (something you would wear to see Michael Buble not Britney Spears). The color is beautiful and a deep purple is a royal color therefore the Queen would approve. I love how after a concert you could so take this look out on the town for a night of dancing and cocktails, not that the Prince and Princess would do that. This look including accessories is drum roll please (drumming sound) $ 169.41 USD. My cheapest Look for Less thus far in this post. That's the price of one dress from Kate's favorite designer Issa.
Ohh Canada!!

And here we ago again another favorite look. I just adore this outfit to death. I mean look at it how can you not. Sure my creation is more along the lines what a teen would wear to a homecoming dance or what a girly girl would wear on a date. But this is also a great way like Kate did to show Canadian Pride. Once again for the purpose of the look this is not a look that's friendly on the wallet. My recreation is $ 2,373.13 USD. That's a doozie.
Royal Blues

I love the lace royal blue dress on the Duchess of Cambridge. It was really hard trying to re-create this look. So I took more of modern and fun spin (something someone in their late teens or early twenties like me would wear to party with friends). I kept the color scheme the same. The overall look costs $ 281.36. Not bad if you ask me.
Kate Style

Since this post is rather long, lets wrap this up shall we. For the finishing look I just created something based of Kate's general everyday style prior to marring Prince William. This is something I would totally wear for a brunch or for school, its very put together and still comfortable my kind of style.
So to recap the key things to look for if you want to look like Kate is focus on classic pieces. Look for streamlined sheath or wrap dresses, lots of cardigans, flats, and simple heels in basic colors like black and nude, flowy blouses, and dark wash jeans, and rich colors like blues and purples and reds.
Well hope you enjoyed this post, any thoughts or comments leave them down below.
