White on White

White on White

White on White by confectionarystyle featuring forever 21

The key to a monochromatic look, is to use different shades, textures and materials for that look; so that it does not become boring and stale. You do not want to be white bread now do you?

Since this whole look is all white. I decided to make each item a different texture and style. That way the whole look is not boring.

The bag is white, but the faux crock texture makes it unique and makes it pop as a statement piece. The skirt is sequins, therefore it will change in the light, so it wont necessarily look white, probably gray/silver. The shoes are a wedge and with a wooden platform, very casual and a totally different style from the overall outfit. The jacket is a motorcycle style with studs, so it adds a bit of interest and a certain vibe to the look. Which also makes this outfit appropriate for a date. The top is a peplum, so it adds to the shape and feel of the skirt and instant curves and class. And the jewelry pops with its gold accents, and its not another white matchy, matchy piece.

Cyprus Beaches

Cyprus Beaches

Arent the above dresses just beautiful! I love both of them the color, the silk material (don't you just love the way silk feels on your skin-especially in the summer). These prints remind me of the wonderful beaches of Greece, I have been to Athens when I was younger and let me tell you Greek Beaches are paradise.

When in Cyprus, don’t limit yourself to just any ordinary dress. Spread your wings and fly into patterened dresses, that can go from the coastal waters to the countryside.

The vibrant colors of this dress are like the fragrant citrus and olive trees of Cyprus and wide open plains carpeted with colorful wild flowers and pristine beaches where turtles nest.

The Shorts Story: Floral Shorts A Hot Spring Trend

Floral Shorts

Floral Shorts by confectionarystyle featuring wet seal jewelry

Of the many Spring 2013 trends this year (pastels, mint green, coral, bright prints, etc), by far my absolute favorite, has to be floral print pants, especially floral shorts.

FYI, I would like to note, that I was on this trend; way before it became fashionable, circa late 90's early 2000's. I also was ahead of my time, with the cheetah print, high-low hemlines, and bright colored skinnies, way before they became the IT Trend; like 8+ years ago. With that said lets get to the details of this post.

Since, florals is one of the hottest prints this Spring, I decided to put it together in a fun scalloped short. I decided to make it pop with the shoes and bracelet. To keep it casual and easy breezy, I went with a tank and denim jacket.

Anyone else miss MTV? I mean the channel still exists, but the old school MTV & TRL none of this Reality TV MTV. This channel was my go to, when I was in Middle School, right when I came home from a long days of school work. :) I love that with this tank you can still keep it close to your heart.

I love jean jackets, they are the perfect outerwear for Spring, Summer and early Fall. They are light enough, to not make you feel hot; but still have enough fabric if you feel a sudden breeze, which is typical on Spring and Summer nights.

One word: Love these shorts. Okay that was more like 3, but you get the idea.

Love the color of these wedges, not only do they pull the hint of blue from the shorts out, but they are bright enough to cheer you up and make a statement at the same time.

Beautiful cuff bracelet. I would go for something like this, I think I have something like this.

Well as usual, tale care and don't be strangers. Don't be shy please say hi.

Well hello there lovely readers, commenters, and followers. First off, I would like to say thank you; to everyone that has visited my blog this past week. I have been smiling from ear to ear. Think the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland, but less creepy. : )
I have really enjoyed reading your lovely comments and replying to each and everyone of you. I have also, enjoyed reading and checking out your blogs, as well. Thanks to those that have also followed me on Twitter and Polyvore and have commented or tweeted me back (links are in the side bar, to the left). And hello, to the 2 new followers, I don't know if you want your names mentioned in the post, but thank you for hitting that follow button, it has made my blog year. I really do appreciate each and everyone of you, and I look forward to getting to know you and your blogs as well. Don't be strangers.

Well, with that said, lets get on with the post.
If you haven't noticed by now, I like to enter Polyvore outfit contests and Color Theory with Meredith Wendell, was no exception.
I, like many girls who love fashion, dream of owning some designer duds, within our lifetime. But alas, not all of us are that lucky. Therefore, we live vicariously through contests such as the ones, found on Polyvore. I enter many of these contests, knowing that there is a million to 1 chance of wining, but its the high one gets, from knowing that they have a chance at winning something. I know I probably say this with every outfit I have created, by I truly would wear something like this.
I love the wedge shoes for their ease and comfort level. Pink dresses or anything pink and girly, are my weakness. And a bold bag and some blingy accessories are the cherry on top. Well, I hope you like it, and let me know what you think in the comments below. And please don't forget to follow with GFC or Bloglovin (links to the right). A follower a day keeps the doctor away. ; )

P.S. To all those preparing for the Snow Apocalypse, coming this weekend to the U.S. East Coast, stay safe and bundle up. My prayers are with you and your family and friends.

If you ever wanted to know, how I dress like on a day to day basis, than this my blog friends and readers, is it. On a typical day to day basis, whether it for classes on campus or going shopping with my parents; this is something I would pick and put together. A jean jacket, is my staple, even in the winter. Although I would wear a coat or parka on top of it, if it was really, really, cold outside. As far as pants, I like the boot cut kind, as I feel they are less constricting than skinnies and therefore more comfortable. And I am all about the COMFORT.
Lastly, I like carrying big bags. Ever since Senior year of High School, they have been my backpack of choice. And last but not least, the shoes. I usually wear sneakers or flats, but sometimes, I spice up my outfit with a nice comfortable wedge. Which give me, just enough height, but are still comfortable to walk around, from class to class. I usually reserve my heels for special occasions. Well hope everyone is having a nice weekend. TGIF.

If I had a dream wardrobe for back to school this outfit would be it. I am seriously dying wanting to own a high low skirt, and honestly the blogging community is not making it easy these things are all over the inter-webs. I like to be comfortable but cute. And this outfit is what I would wear if I had just a little bit of motivation to actually dress up in the morning instead of only on presentation days. So what would you wear if you were still in school for the first day?
