Spring 2013 Trends: April Pastels
April Pastels by confectionarystyle featuring anchor jewelry
Isn't everyone happy, that Spring has finally sprung. Although, I have noticed that some places have a lot of rain or still some snow showers. I feel you my peeps. Is it okay to call you all peeps? Me thinks so.
Any-whosies, I am head over heels in love with pastels, there is just something so beautiful about them, the sense of feeling light and airy, or even like a little girl, baby pink anyone? (I am raising my hand btw, even though you cant see it).
In this look, I went for incorporating the seasons most amazing colors: Pastels. This a great way to look beautiful with out looking like and Easter egg.
I love how the skirt has two trends going on, the high-low (mullet trend- business in the front party in the back). And also the rainbow of the pastel spectrum; my two faves violet and mint.
I love the shirt because it has all the colors in the skirt in a very beautiful print, not to mention that there are birds on it. OMG.
I went for simple accessories; with colors found in the overall outfit, and for those chilly nights, add a jean jacket that looks like a leather moto jacket. Cross-body bags in the color of the season CORAL are so hot right now and easy to maneuver/move around in. And flats keep your feet from screaming in pain.

EASTER is UPON us
Easter Hatbox by confectionarystyle featuring satchel handbags
Raindrops on tulips and whiskers on bunnies.
Bright Easter eggs and warm sun-shining rays.
Brown baskets tied up with strings.
These are a few of my favorite things.
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels.
Doorbells and children's laughter and lamb with noodles.
Wild geese that fly with the sun on their wings.
These are a few of my favorite things.
Girls in red dresses with white satin sashes.
Glitter that stays on my nose and eyelashes.
Silver white winters that melt into springs.
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the dog barks.
When the bees sting.
When I'm feeling blue.
I simply remember that Easter is upon us.
And then I don't feel so bad.
Happy Easter everyone. I hope you like my song. You see what I did there, with My Favorite Things song from The Sound Of Music. Love that movie and song. I created the outfit above with the many inspirations that Spring and Easter bring to us each year. The bright colors, the blooming flowers, the little animals running around (bunnies and squirrels).

I just love this Red Dress. I mean the retro style and the little sailor details, I think are just lovely for an Easter Sunday dress. This is perfect because you still get a pop of color but you still have enough coverage, therefore its appropriate for Church or going to see your parents or extended family for Easter Brunch.
Is anyone as in love with this Trench Coat as I am? You cant beat the price either. I love all the bold colors in this. The canary yellow, the bold red, and possibly some orange in there. This just screams Spring and wear me, cause I'll make you look adorable. This is so in my must have list now. And I love how it complements the dress as well. Plus, you cant go wrong with something floral for Easter.

Flat shoes are a must for busy holidays and especially if you are going to go hunt some Easter eggs.
All the accessories are simple put still a little fun. They help keep the look classy and pulled together. And the bow headband is just the perfect touch, you can be like those ladies who brunch with those very elaborate Easter Hats, but without the fuss and weight.
For the makeup I decide to go simple and with keeping in theme with the color palette of the outfit, I decided for coral lips and browns and pinks for a day time smokey eye. You end up looking fresh and a nice spring glow.
Overall, this is a lovely yet, very lady like look for Easter and for Spring. So let me know what you would wear for Easter and if this look is something you would consider?

Earth Chic (Happy Earth Day 2012) :)
Earth Chic by confectionarystyle featuring lightweight shoes
On April 22, more than one billion people around the globe will participate in Earth Day. I personally would wear this outfit to go out and clean our Earth to make the world better for future generations. I try hard to not buy unnecessary articles of clothing or personal things that I will not use often. I try to donate or give away clothes (that's what me and my family did when we left the States for Europe) instead of throwing our belongings away that we could not sell we donated them to the Salvation Army for those less fortunate than us and to lessen our Carbon footprint. Or make them into something new. We should all do our part to save Mother Earth because without her we have no where to live. Together we will stand united for a sustainable future and call upon individuals, organizations, and governments to do their part. We should elevate the importance of environmental issues around the world, because its important to keep our futures bright and alive. For more info about how to help save our Earth go to: http://www.earthday.org/ and http://www.earthhour.org/. I did participate in this years Earth Hour and let me tell you it felt good to be part of something bigger than myself and part of a global effort. And I leave you with this:

Happy Easter one week late !
Walk A Day in My Shoes by confectionarystyle featuring studded jewelry
Sorry for the way late post guys. I have been really busy in fact. Although I have been on Easter Break from University, I have been busy nonetheless. With research papers and presentations and study for my Spring 2012 Mid-Term Exams, and sending holiday greeting cards to friends and family I have barely had time for anything personal including this lovely blog of mine and all of you awesome readers. Had we done something for Easter this year the above looks would be what I would have worn frolicking in the woods (actually the park-I can only dream of fairy-tale's cant I) picking those lovely colorful eggs (preferably chocolatey ones--my weakness next to shoes). In actuality I am a late Easter wisher for the Catholic Easter but for Orthodox Easter I am right on time. Well comment away and make my day. Stay sweet. :)

Looks 4 Less: Sweet things
Sweet things. by confectionarystyle featuring platform heels

Ms. Williams is cute as can be in a floral Erdem sheath dress and gray slingbacks. Have I told you guys how much I love florals. It was very hard to find an inexpensive dress that look exactly like Michelle's but I opted for a maxi to go for a more causal spring vibe, versus the dressed up look she is wearing. I am obsessed with maxi everything right now. Michelle's pixie makes me miss my own short childhood hair, although I didn't look as chic back in the day. The Total for this Look 4 Less is: $ 99. One word: Touch Down baby. I hit this right on the nose as far as staying below the 100 dollar range. Well peace out and always stay sweet.
