Spring 2013 Trends: April Pastels

April Pastels

April Pastels by confectionarystyle featuring anchor jewelry

Isn't everyone happy, that Spring has finally sprung. Although, I have noticed that some places have a lot of rain or still some snow showers. I feel you my peeps. Is it okay to call you all peeps? Me thinks so.

Any-whosies, I am head over heels in love with pastels, there is just something so beautiful about them, the sense of feeling light and airy, or even like a little girl, baby pink anyone? (I am raising my hand btw, even though you cant see it).

In this look, I went for incorporating the seasons most amazing colors: Pastels. This a great way to look beautiful with out looking like and Easter egg.

I love how the skirt has two trends going on, the high-low (mullet trend- business in the front party  in the back). And also the rainbow of the pastel spectrum; my two faves violet and mint.

I love the shirt because it has all the colors in the skirt in  a very beautiful print, not to mention that there are birds on it. OMG.

I went for simple accessories; with colors found in the overall outfit, and for those chilly nights, add a jean jacket that looks like a leather moto jacket. Cross-body bags in the color of the season CORAL are so hot right now and easy to maneuver/move around in. And flats keep your feet from screaming in pain.

Well this outfit, I would totally wear for shopping or even an Easter egg hunt.

Looks 4 Less: Emmy Rossum in Dior!

Overall Total Look: $ 199
Rossum was bright as sunshine in this Dior; yellow v-neck, short sleeved mini dress. I think yellow is the best color for pale skin tones, as it instantly brightens up a person's appearance. It is like being a giant ball of happiness.

My overall look for less: dress, shoes and accessories came to a total of $ 199 under 200 woohoo. That is probably way less than the actual price tag of the Dior dress; I am betting. Therefore, I am patting myself on the back. You can still get the designer look for a fraction of the cost.

I actually like the shoes and dress of my look better. I prefer chunky strappy heels, as I feel my foot is more stable and secure, so less chances of falling on the red carpet. Ha-ha. In addition, I love my dress purely for the bejeweled belt in the middle; you can never go wrong with sparkles on a dress and the cut prefect for any age or body shape. It hits the high notes in all the right places.

Well let me know what y'all think in the comments below.

As most of you may know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. And its only natural that being a young woman I support this cause (as you should too). So in honor of this very important cause I wear pink for a cure. This outfit is all pink in support for a Cure for Breast Cancer. I actually have that exact same sweater but in a blush shade of pink. I have many clothing items in pink so  its pretty easy to support this cause fashionably. But we should not just support it virtually through our blogs, or through our outfits. Get out there an support these women with a lifetime battle, run a marathon in support for the Susan G. Komen Foundation
or even make a donation. The thing is do something that helps someone in need. I hope you like this post and thanks for stopping by.

Looks 4 Less: Cali Girl Chic

Cali Girl Chic
I love what Rachel Bilson wore at a network party for her new show The Hart of Dixie where she plays the lead. I love how she styled her Erdem button-down and bright slacks with Christian Louboutin heels (drooling here). Why do I love this look so much. One florals, a girl can never go wrong with a floral top. Bright pants are so in right now. In fact I was in on this trend 4 years ago when I was a Senior in High School; in fact I wore red skiniess with a leopard print cropped jacket. Which bring me to the shoes, GOD the shoes. I have to have everything cheetah print one day. Rachel Bilson is the quintessential Cali Girl. Now for the overall look (drum roll please-doing sound on table) the Total Price of my recreation is: $ 124. Wahoo. I proud of this one because that was my goal to be around the mid to low 100 dollar range. Stay sweet guys. Kisses.
